Christina had Little Yellow Bicycle's kitchen/food line. To see her first post about her projects, click here. Let's hear what she had to say about her project!
First of all, you have to have an invitation! Set the mood and theme right from the beginning with an invitation to match your decor! I love how all the cooking terms add so much character so I knew I needed that as my background! I used a Sizzix Bigz die called "Card, Ornate #2" to get this particular shape, but anything will do. The orange paper is appropriately called "Whisk Briskly". I used dies to cut out the letters BBQ in brown Bazzill cardstock. Inside, I thought I'd add an extra layer for the details by doing a sort of card within a card. I stamped the word celebrate and used a Fiskars border punch to get the scallop. The party details are inside of that!
And now, let's finish off the party with a fun little party favor! You can't have your guests go home empty handed, so I created a party favor that is a small box of jelly bellies! The box was simple - it was a Sizzix Bigz die called "Box, Shaker" that is one piece already scored for you. The only thing you need is to adhere a small piece of acetate to the opening so whatever you decide to fill it with doesn't fall out. Decorate as you like, just don't forget to fill the box before you completely put it together!
Tomorrow Christina's going to share a spin-top tutorial so that you can make one of these fun favors yourself! You could even use the same idea on a card, like Michelle did here.
We'll see you all here tomorrow! Thanks Christina, for your great projects!
