"Sew" happy to share more DT projects!

I don't think I told you all, but this months assignments were to create a 2 page layout and a mini-album.  I also asked the Designers to include stitching on at least one of their projects - we were totally open to any type of stitching, they could use a machine, Bazzill's "In Stitch'z", WeR's Sewing line... whatever they wanted as long as it was stitched!  And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! 

Today I'm sharing a layout by Michelle where she used stitching!  If you remember, last month Michelle stitched a border around her layout (very cute), so she's not new to the stitching technique!  I think you'll be in love and "sew" thankful for Michelle's creativity once again!  Let's take a look and hear what Michelle has to say!

The Lime Twist Fly a Kite collection is a fun set of papers and embellishments that uses bold prints and bright colors. It is geared towards a little boy theme so if you have a little boy you want to feature, then this is the collection for you. I did make one item that is for a little boy, but to show you the versatility of this line, I also used it for a beach theme, an all purpose card, a favor holder and a girly beauty parlor layout which is the exact opposite of its original intent. So feel free to use papers for other purposes than what is stated. Let your imagination run free like a kite. I also wanted to point out that I used Imaginisce's Glam Rocks and the i-Rock tool in most of my layouts to add that extra touch of metallic bling. They look like brads but without the pain of having to poke holes in your layout and having to bend the little tabs behind the layout. It is my must have tool right now and I am not a representative from the company or anything like that. I find most tools are not that necessary but this one I can recommend.

A Hair-raising Tale Layout:
I ran out of supplies as this was the last project I made so this is made with strips and scraps. I hand stitched around the clouds and sun to make the embellishments stand out a bit. I also added the Glam rocks for that extra bit of bling, like putting in a silver lining on the clouds. I did start off using a sketch but it ended up nothing like it. Another round of DT projects...

starts today with Debbie!

This is Debbie's first time sharing her DT projects, so let's give her a big, giant, "Heart"-felt welcome!  Debbie had October Afternoon's 5&Dime paper to work with, which has a vintage feel to it!  Here, take a look!

Don't you just love all of those fun yo-yo's?  They are so cute!  And Debbie made all of them!  And isn't it great that Debbie was able to use 6 photos but still have a lot of white space, which is still a very popular trend right now?

Our Color Challenge Winner!

Yay!  Our first Page's Peeps Challenge has come and gone!  If you didn't get a chance to enter your project, please stay tuned because we'll announce another challenge later this month!  Sooo... drum roll please....

I love the flower embellishments that she made from different sized circles, along with the stems that are brads.  But, my favorite part is definitely the twine that is tied around the bottom of the page with the ribbons tied to it - I think it adds such a statement!

Our Guest Designer & Color Challenge News!

Hello!

Today is Francine's turn to share a project that she created using Graphic 45's Le Cirque and Curtain Call!  I love her project, it is truly a feast for your eyes!  The pictures don't do it justice so you should go into Page's to see it in person!

Francine created a diorama, which she loved in childhood.  I was amazed at all the hand cutting and different elements that she used.  You'll see everything from a tight rope walker to an elephant and a lion and a wooden plaque.  Take a look!

Here's the full view of the diorama.  Now let's take a few looks close up!

And our broom loving little clown witch!  And of course, what circus is complete without a little horse?

Here's a little clown with real pom-poms and our little elephant on his stand.

Here's the top view of the diorama, there's chipboard letters that spell our "Big Top" along with a painted "Laugh"  wooden plaque and a leopard.  The entire box is covered with different pieces of paper from the 2 paper lines.  Francine Modge Podged everything!

Here's our laser cut wooden lion face, stained with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

And our last look at the little elephant.  I love that Francine used a tag with the elephant riding a bike glued to the stand. 

Didn't you just love it?  I promise, if you go into the store to see the display you'll want to look at it for hours - it really has some great embellishments if you enjoy altered art!

The last DT project for the month!

Hello again!

Here's out final DT project to share this month... but don't worry, I'll be back on Friday with our Guest Designer, Francines, project!  And I think you'll really enjoy it!  Also, it's almost time for our next round of DT samples to start up again, and you won't want to miss any of these! 

Here's a card that Michelle created.

Do you see anything that looks familiar?  Hmm, well, obviously the JilliBean paper, but anything else?  Like maybe something with wings?  Yep, Michelle created a card to show off her butterfly stick pins!  Isn't that great?  She stuck with the butterfly idea and put other little butterfly punches on the card as well.  The scallop oval is also from the JilliBean diecuts sheet!

I hope that after seeing all of these DT samples, that you'll be more inspired to use your creativity to make more craftiness!

Hope you have a "Jam'n" week...

And after you see this project from Michelle, I'm sure you will!

Michelle made an adorable Jam Jar that is all decorated and ready to give as a little hostess gift or a party favor!  I can only imagine making this for a wedding favor (my family actually helped me can cherry jam for my wedding favor!) or to include this sweet jam jar with a loaf of zucchini bread in a little basket for a tasty hostess gift!  Take a peek!

Michelle used the JilliBean line, she decorated the front of the jar with a Jillibean label with sticker letters and a fun little strawberry embellishment with a little bit of bakers twine and a tag that reads "for you".  She also decorated the top of the jam jar with some paper and die cuts, then she popped up the strawberry.  There's a lot of little embellishments all over, little flowers, borders... it's a great use of all the different elements that come with a paperline!

Here's the back side of the jam jar.  There's a label (isn't that adorable?) with a picture on it.  The ingredients list reads "strawberries, lemon juice,, sugar, pectin and love" - the tab coming off the label adds a little something extra as well!
